C3 vs Sena 20S

Ok, not much on electronics and mechanical stuff.

Recently purchased the 20S from my local dealer; took the helmets to said shop on Good Friday so he could do the install and that he would call when they were ready. Purchased the motochello bridge, the Sena S10 (or whatever) and the wiring to keep the unit "hot" without having to recharge the S10 all from Rocket Moto.

Have called them twice and both times Adam was tied up with another customer so here is the problem; got a call today from my local dealer after trying to install the 20S' into our two helmets he said that he would have to butcher my helmet and that he did not feel comfortable with the install. He has since removed the 20s'. He said that the 10U would be better but I REALLY don't want the 10U. Luckily my order from RM has not shipped and now has a hold on my order at my request till I hear from Adam.

This is ridiculous to have to spend the money on all of this just because BMW wants you to purchase their BT crap that nobody likes, plus the aggravation!

I can get a refund on all of this and I may have my local dealer re-install the Interphone BT and now I will be back to square one.........................SO how danged hard is it to install the 20S on Schuberth helmets?

I have a Schuberth C3 Pro helmet and a Sena 20S....just got the Sena a couple days ago. But, I have not yet tried the install but I can't see what would be so difficult. Except for the speakers, I think everything fits on the outside of the helmet. It may be that you have to carve out a little deeper recess for the speakers to get them to fit.

Anyone else have any tips before I start tearing into my helmet?

Installing a 20S in a C3 should be easy. The only problem that I can see is removing the clamp on the EPS cheek. I think that all it will take is 2 knives to pry the teeth out of the way. I will be doing this soon on a C3Pro.

Sena recommends using the glue kit adapter for the c3/c3 pro.

I purchased two Shuberth helmets and two sena 20s headsets about a year ago from the BMW dealer in Pensacola FL. The Parts Dept. Did the install for both helmets in about 15 min. I did not see any cutting of material. It was a simple looking install to me and they work great.

As you see here it is not hard to do but that does not mean your dealer will be comfortable doing it. If they don't feel comfortable doing, the videos in this thread don't make you comfortable doing it and you don't have a buddy you trust to do it check with Adam to see if he can do it for you. There are times they are very busy as it is a small operation but he may be able to get it done for you.

Not sure if I have the patience for all of these many different parts needed so is the BWM BT system really that bad?

If you're really slow and patient, it'll take you about 15 minutes to install the 20S...
