When are the 2017 models coming to the US?

Pretty much what the subject is asking. I do miss the K1600 that I had, and I'm looking to get a 2017 GT Sport when available.

Although my current Honda Interceptor is a very nice ride, and I love the handling and capabilities as a sport-tourer as well as the OEM quick-shifter option on it, its ergos, even with bar risers still have my wrists hurting after a period. And the lack of wind protection is the other factor I'm not the happiest with.

Last year BMW had their 2017 models at the bike show I went to, but not this year for some reason. This has me wondering if BMW is going to wait until 2016 stock is depleted before bringing over the 2017 models? If anyone has any inside info on this, please respond.

If I were to guess I would say March they will start trickling in. Your best bet is to put a deposit on one. I put a deposit on a 2012 model in December of 2010 and got it in July 0f 2011.

The BMW folks at the Long Beach show were saying late 3rd quarter (or September) for the new K16's to arrive in dealerships. Not currently taking any orders. Apparently no pre-order program either.

Boxer 1200's should break ground in spring.

Well heres my $.02. I saw an internal dealer memo saying the 1600B will roll in 3rd quarter 2017. Another dealer told me this past Saturday the 17's other than the B models will start coming in in January (I assumed he was referring to the K16's since I am shopping around for one). I cant understand a marketing plan that rolls out new model year bikes when the bike has a 6 month depreciation against it before it hits the street.
Is it the customers fault that they overshipped bikes to the US? What kind of marketing plan is this?

I was in the dealer last week and the salesman said they want to sell the 2016's first and then probably release the 2017's in June and call them a 2017/18.

Do you think in the coming months they will get pretty aggressive in the clearance prices? Might sway me to pick up a 16, but I doubt I will wait till mid year for a 17. The bug will have long since worn off and maybe settle for a 14/15 model with low mileage.

When are the 2017 models coming to the US?

You can already purchase a 2017 K1600 GT or GTL in Europe ( BMW Motorrad UK , BMW Motorrad Deutschland ). Many are on order. The K1600 Bagger is not avaliable anywhere. I have not seen the 2017 GTLE.

The USA availability of 2017 K1600's- GT/ GTL is supposedly dependent on the liquidation of the exsisting 2016 models that are already here. There is no set ship date set for the 2017ís to the US. So, all you guys go out & buy those 2016's. Rebates & pricing are already pretty sweet!! Best,

Doc

Well, I guess I'll be hanging on to the Interceptor for a bit longer then. Not a big deal really, and if the GTs come sooner then all the better.

2016 Sales??

Just got an update from Touring Sports of Greenville, SC on some 2016's in case someone is looking for one:

"The GTL's are now in our showroom ready to go. Blue GTL was $27,490 and is now $23,990. I also have an Exclusive which was $30,890 and is now $26,890. We can also help out with discounts on parts or accessories...."

Thanks

I'm betting that pic was taken on a weekday.

That place attracts every weekend warrior bar hopper in Southern California.

Well maybe in Orange County....like the Rock Store in L.A.
