Nearly got thrown

On my way home yesterday in the rain; rain mode on. At a red light, light turns green I get about five feet and traction control comes on and bike totally cuts out, almost felt like I slammed on the brakes.. wasnt ready for it... suppose it kept me from getting sideways though.
Really enjoying this motorcycle.

It shouldn't cut out, just back off the throttle until you regain control

I had the same sensation early in my riding the K when I was on some gravel at a way side historical marker and getting ready to hop back on the highway. I was a little aggressive on my "reentry" plan and at very slow speeds it's quite the surprise. After that I knew what to expect and haven't had anymore surprises. Aren't you glad you got that out of the way?
For all other conditions, traction control is flat out awesome! Unless you love burnouts, long high wheelies, drifting......................

Yes , can be very abrupt at low speeds. Thank goodness you can switch it off if you are caught on a steep gravel hill where spinning is inevitable. Otherwise you'd be stuck there.

Riding in rain mode with the instant traction control kept me from going down on a muddy stretch of back road where my friends on 2 Gold Wings and a Kawasaki didn't have such luck.

They will cut out. Mine did that once when I was being brave and attempting a small wheelie, thought I broke something!

I was playing in some snow on Monday and mine cut out as well. It was possible to make it perform like you would expect by cutting power back with more speed.

Using the wonder wheel you can turn off the DTC but boy I would be careful. It will go back on with the next start up.

It is fun to play with. I live off a dirt/gravel road and kind of humor myself on occasion and try to kick the ass end around a bit.....the TC tells me otherwise....which is clearly smarter and wiser than I am...
