Question Audio integration through bike's speakers

According to the manuals available in this forum it's clear that the radio sourced audio can be piped out of the bike's speakers. Can anyone confirm that the audio from the MP3 (USB) or the stereo jack can also be piped out the same way?

In addition, if the Navigator IV is present, will the voice commands mute or lower the music audio and also be piped out of the bike's speakers?

According to the manual, music output can be sent to bike's speakers OR bluetooth device. Audio from MP3, ipod, USB stick can be played thru the bike's speakers.

Regarding the muting for GPS instructions, real users will need to report on this.

Thanks, that's what I thought; everything goes to the speakers and if they are turned off, the bluetooth gets activated and so everything then goes via bluetooth.

In the bluetooth pairing manual it suggests pairing the bikes audio output and the GPS as separate devices. This suggests that the GPS audio is not integrated which is going to cause a problem.

In the non bluetooth world, as with my current Autocom setup, it knows that an audio source is from the GPS and acts intelligently. This is also true for mobile phone and bike to bike integration.

Anyway, let's wait for an owner to comment. I won't be picking my GTLE up for another couple of months

Thanks Jan.

Can I ask if you have a bluetooth helmet or intercom? From your response it seems that one only needs to pair up the helmet/intercom to the bike's audio and a passenger if appropriate. I can't see why the bluetooth pairing manual makes it seem so complicated; it's not needed.

You would probably want to pair up a mobile phone separately so the voice part is handled correctly but it would be great if the bike's system could also integrate a mobile phone so any audio was also muted.

I'm not using bluetooth yet but been playing with the audio system. I can confirm when the radio is playing through the speakers the radio is softly muted as messages from the sat nav are spoken. I think the phone is handled via the sat navs bluetooth so I guess the radio will also mute when a call comes in.
So far I've been unable to get the system to recognise my ipod, or find any data on a usb stick. I probably need to update the ipod software.

I have only tryed some stuff on a demo bike since I haven't recived my own bike yet. I hope to get it in three weeks time. I have tryed a USB stick and it works fine. You can control songs and volume with the "smart wheel" on the left side handle and beautiful music comes out of the bikes speakers
I wrote another post some time ago and i tryed to explain that I was fiddeling with a Cardo system and one other system, but I could not get them to work proporly (the way I wanted or expected it to funktion). My dealer are one of "the good guys" so they let me try what ever I want with their bike, the only thing I lack right now. But rest asure, as soon as I get my own bike, I will find out for sure because I don't want to invest in another 2 new helmets with a BMW communicator since I bought 2 new helmets 9 months ago
I'll be back!

The audio plays through the speakers. The sat nav via a Bluetooth helmet. The audio other than radio can be selected by a bottom on the left hand faring. It changes between radio, in my case iPod or auxilery which could be anything.

Thanks for that, I'll have another look tomorrow. I'm using the apple to usb lead but the bike doesn't find it at all. I've not synced the ipod for ages so suspect it my be the dated OS thats the problem.
