This is exactly the reason I designed the Short Throw Shift Kit. I also had the same issue getting used to the shifting on the K16. I tend to ride pretty aggressively and the shifting on the K16 was distracting, I found myself thinking about shifting technique instead of the more important stuff like choosing a proper cornering line and corner entry speed. Even found myself braking on entry into a corner instead of just downshifting. I had taken a test ride on a K1300s that had the shift assist and after returning and reserving myself to the fact I am too old to ride a "sport" bike any more I got back on my K16 to ride home and was determined to make it shift better. The Short Throw Shift Kit doesn't really change anything other than the timing. By shortening up the distance your foot has to move to affect a shift it just makes the shifting "feel" quicker and smoother. For me, it allows me to concentrate more on the other aspects of riding.
