    Garyculb,

You previously sent me a link to the front drive shaft bungs--I think it was a Japanese site. Please resend. I'm ready to purchase a pair.

    Hi Doc,

I'm new on the forum, and SmokinJoe just PM'd me to suggest I reach out to YOU. We have the same bike, and he suggests you'll know what is possible with the 2016 GTLE and what isn't...said your bike is farkled to the max.

I clicked through your album, and WOW it's a beauty!

Do you have a complete list of mods you've done? Looks like you even have the Wunderlich reflective strips on the back of your panniers... I bought them also.

I haven't even picked mine up yet, as work is overwhelming at the moment... so I've been pestering the dealer (and the forum, lol) about ideas for mounting a Screaming Banshee horn. The dealer SWEARS that there's no extra room on the 2016s.... do you concur? Any ideas??

Would love to talk to you about your bike. (Would even like to discuss a ptosis surgery with you, as my left eye has a mild case that has been bothering me for a while...)

Feel free to PM or email me at cdery@healthinhome.com

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Gary,

I found your pics of your bike from the current thread on the top 3 accessories to buy for the GTL. I just picked up a dark blue 2012 GTL and am beginning to get educated about accessories. The bike currently has the Ilium works engine bars. I want to get guards for the side cases and was thinking of the C4's. I was thinking that chrome would look best both in front and back and wanted your opinion on what you now own. What are they and how do you like them? The short list of things I want to get right away are:

    Engine/Back Bars and highway pegs.

New seat (I have a stock low and it's not for me even though I'm 5'8" and have a 30" inseam) and looking at RDL or Sargent.

New shield. Cee Bailey's, Cal Sci, AeroFlow. Would consider the aerowings and miniwings if they truly work to help keep the cockpit and arms somewhat calm.

I want to be "seen" and am considering a white helmet and also lights if they would help towards this end.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    John,

Glad you can make this Event. It will be very interesting to see so many K1600's in one location at the same time. I cannot wait to see all the modifications others have made on their bikes. Best,

    Doc

Surgery went well today.Aggressive removal of the melanoma and five nodes. Two fairly long insicisions. Dr said he wil have results in 5-7 days.
Thank you for giving me the push to have this done. Most likely you saved my life!!
    Thank you my friend!!

Drops or Falls with tip or roll overs are most common with the Wunderlich Rear Protection Bars. For Stationary Drops the C4 Rear bars are more than adequate. Many K1600 Members go with the Wunderlich front protection bars & rear C4 Bars. However, at speed the R-type from Japan are the most protective. Installation of the R-Type bars is not for the novice. Hope this is of assistance. Best,

I get my bike on the 27th of June, Supposed to have had it earlier however thru problems ended up owning 2 houses on a bridge loan and mommy said the deal on the bike would wait. Lost some riding but **** happens. I hope to go to billings and pick up a bars with your recommendation. However if you think they are worth the bucks I will consider them. The most important to me is the tip point if it goes down just would prefer the mirrors and the top stuff might survive. Looks are secondary. Thanks for your time Gary. part 2
