    Hi Ken,

You obviously know your stuf when it comes to long distance riding, so I'd like to ask your opinion about seats/back rests. I have a GTL with a stock seat and it sucks. I've been limping along with an Airhawk that I used to use on my Harley Ultra Limited--until I sold the bike. I also have a Backup backrest designed for the GTL. I've decided to buy another seat, but I'm still undecided on which one to get. My first concern is leather vs vinyl. I'm thinking the leather would be better in hot weather, but vinyl would be better in inclement weather. Also, I'm not sure if I need a backrest or not. Seems to me that if proper riding posture is used, a backrest really won't help that much in fighting fatigue on a long riding day. When you have a minute, I'd appreciate your thoughts on leather vs vinyl and the ads/disadvantages of using a backrest or not when doing long distant riding. Thanks, Ron

Hi meese, ran across a picture of your bike when researching removing my mirrors and going with bar end mirrors or something to reduce width of bike (bagless) I was wondering where you got the adapter plates for those lights in mirror position. thanks

Hope you're healing up well. Are you planning to do a repair/rebuild to your bike or are you going to replace it? I didn't gather from any of your posts that have intentions other than continuing to ride. Would love to see progress on a rebuild if that's what you're planning.

    Ken,
If I understand correctly, the big draw towards car tires on the rear is mileage, right? What are the drawbacks? Does the factory TPMS still work?
    Thanks,

    Hi Ken,
I see that you are a prolific contributor here, I have owned my GT nice July 2011, weather at the moment , in Wales, is non stop rain, so a bit sodden every time I am out in this beautifully part of Britian, just thought I would drop you a line, as my name is Godfrey ----------- Meese.
There can't be to many of us about, the only Meese's in my local phone book are my family, when I travel to the states/Bermuda, I am always asked by boarder control if I am any relation to the senator, you must get the same asked, although maybe you are.

Just thought I would let you know that you may have a distant relative enjoying life to the max and very similar riding tastes.

Drop me line if you get a chance.

Glad you found it helpful, Jim.

I don't recommend the path I took to get there but any energy you can spend on taking better care of yourself is time well spent.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from . . .
