The first week of May 2017 there is to be a gathering of K1600 Forum Members, friends, family, etc. Plan for Arrival on Thursday 4 May 2017 with a Departure of Sunday 7 May 2017. All Experienced Riders are welcome.

There will be another attempt for this group of hooligans to "Tame the Dragon" at Deals Gap. There will be group rides to cover other great roads in the area like the Cherohola Skyway ( The Cherohala Skyway, a National Scenic Byway ), The Moonshine Hwy-NC28 ( http://moonshiner28.com/# ), & other twisty roads like Warwoman Rd, Wayah Rd, NC-215, NC-281, Georgia Six Gap ( http://sixgap.com ), etc. weather & traffic permitting. Location Central will be at the

Riders must make their own reservations. Call the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge (IHML) at 828.479.3864 & get your Reservations if you are planning to attend.


The IHML Site map indicates the layout of the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge. There are two levels. The Luxury Cabins (Old Homestead, LoneStar 1 & 2, Rocky Top & Hawg Hideway) are available on the hillside. The roads up to these Luxury Cabins are paved. Yes, they have Private rooms ($98.95). This is were they close off the central area of the Luxury cabins on the hillside & you have your own room, bathroom & shower. The rest of the rooms are in the valley. Find a partner & you can share a room. Semi-Private rooms are Cabins 1,2 & 3. In a Semi-Private room ( $79.95-Mountainside/$88.95-Creekside) you will share a Bathroom/ Shower with another renter. There are no TV’s in the rooms. Yes, there are camping & RV sites with plug in/ showers-bathroom available. Quite time begins at 11PM. They are in a DRY COUNTY!! Reservation confirmed for new dates. Arriving on Thursday and as it gets closer, may extend to Wednesday. Wife wants to come, but won't be doing any riding and will bring her cage...

Next year Mother's Day is on the 14th - with the 1st being on a Sunday, it's a bit "early" this year.
