I just watched the xr vs rr comparo.
What struck me is wtf is the guy doing at 4k rpm going into the turn and holding 4k through it??
Any real rider is at about 8k going into that turn on a track.
Why would he let the revs drop that low?
Yeah... WTF indeed.
The guy is either a moron, or out to skew the results to prove his point.
I couldn't find an XR vs RR dyno comparison, but this one is close enough to be relevant, as the R is similarly "detuned". Even then, any rider that lugs the engine at 4k on the racetrack isn't a professional... not even a season rider. Heck, even a novice knows not to be that dumb. On my first track day with my track bunny, I knew enough to stay in the Gixxer's 7-9k powerband through the turns, and use the upper RPM extension to roll out of the corner. And I was just in Level 1 learning my ropes.
The charts makes it painfully obvious why. Even the detuned R's torque is down in the basement at 4k, but it does make a few N-m more than the RR in that range.
