Schuberth helmet microphone removal ?

I only use my helmet speakers (audio for listening) and have thought about removing the microphone. No plans to ever connect my smartphone. Has anyone done this? How did you do it? I've thought about just cutting the remote mic flush with the helmet, but wanted to make sure, before I did that, that I didn't short our something and kill the audio.

Which helmet?
  • C4? Why bother, there is no boom mic.
  • C3 with BMW Comm System? You could, but it would make sense to wrap the cut wire ends. Pretty easily done.
  • Some other Comm System? I dunno!

BMW Comms? pull left cheek pad and the mic is in a couple plastic clips wire feeds thru to the control board and is plugged in. The inner styrofoam has to come out too so that the board in the baggy can be removed. The red zip clips are a pain to re align when you put it together but can be done.
