With my first GT I bought a BMW topbox and the paint on that felt gritty. I buffed it out with this stuff and a microfiber cloth and it was very smooth and it only took a few minutes. Toss the rag when your done or it will stink everything up. I also say use it as a bargaining chip.

He has lots of other bikes and said they all feel smooth on painted surfaces, but this bike not so much. It's only got 4000 miles, no history of accidents, dealer that serviced it says it's good to go. I've not been able to find anything like this online (complaints of paint issues) so I thought I'd ask here.

I bought my '15 GT with just over 4k on it last November. My BMW dealer said it had actually sat for nearly a year without being ridden. They had to replace fuel pump due to gum(up) but as far as the paint, it was exceptionally clean.

Of course, me being anal, I performed a 3 hour detail on it but left off waxing. Instead, I used F11 Top Coat. This stuff is amazing!!! Haven't had to "soap/water" wash is since, just reapplying the F11 does the trick.
