I just ordered a set of the Max Torque Cans from the UK for my K1600GA. I did not go with the Ebay version as the website allows you to custom design your own mufflers. I went with the oval shape in carbon fiber with a twin outlet that will be road legal. I figure shortly before they arrive, a Bren tune will be in order......

Love my Maxtorque cans! Literally anything is an improvement over stock in my opinion! Stock cans are hideously huge, weigh too much and sound like a sewing machine. Stock cans the only thing I do not like about the B/GA! Post pictures of the new cans!

Much to my surprise & delight, my Max Torque Cans showed up today...ordered them late on the 12th and they were on my door step on the 17th. Since they do not come with install directions, I will try to document the steps I took for the install. It may take a few posts, so bear with me. Here they are as unboxed including the hardware kit:

To remove the stock mufflers is fairly simple. No need to remove the bags like other systems. You'll need a 45 Torx, a 25 torx, ratchet with extensions and a universal joint and a 10 mm socket and a 5 mm ball end allen.
1. Remove the muffler hangar bolt with the 45 torx and universal joint.
2. Loosen the clamp at the front of the head pipe, also a 45 torx.
3. Not required, but I found it easier, remove the 25 Torx screw from the rear of the heat shield covering the cats. I found it a bit easier when removing the stock mufflers.
4. Wiggle, rotate and pull the stock mufflers off.

1. Put the rubber grommet on the hangers
2. Slide the hanger over the muffler
3. Put the mid pipe in the muffler
4. Put the stock exhaust clamp on the front of the mid pipe
5. Leave everything loose at this point

This is where I ran into some <ahem> difficulties. On Ebay where they market a different design can for the 1600B (trapezoid shape, 3 outlets) they show a bolt tightening the hanger to the muffler. Mine had no such bolt, so I used Vice-Grips to hold the hanger together while I messed with the hanger bolt. There is a removable nut in the hanger bracket on the bike, so remove that. The new nut provided was a bit too tall to fit in the hanger bracket, so I filed it down until it would fit.
1. Place modified nut in hanger bracket
2. Bolt or vice grip hanger bracket onto muffler
3. Slide entire assembly onto bike, making sure mid pipe is positioned away from the rear tire
4. Insert spacer for rear hanger bracket into bracket and thread into nut placed in hanger bracket on bike.
