I spotted a GT in Riverside, MO, in Horizons industrial park area on NW 41st. I think it was a '14?? It was parked prominently as if displayed. That was last Fri the 23rd I think it was.

And last night, 8.28.19 I spotted a black B heading south on Nall avenue about 151st in Overland Park, KS. Looked like he rode to work and was coming home, perhaps. I didn't have a chance to snap a pic as I was headed north.

I spotted a black B running with some HDs IIRC on Sat 8.31.19 south of Jasper, AR. I spotted a GTL coming up the Main St hill in Eureka Springs, AR while we were heading downhill on Sun 9.1.19. So easy to spot those owl eyes when they’re approaching. Saw an LT parked on Main as well. But 2 K’s out of about 200+ was pretty cool to me. Saw more GSA’s than any other BMW.

Took my GT out for a day ride to Neah Bay yesterday. When I stopped at Harbor Freight in Port Angeles to buy a tube of clear RTV I saw this GTL in the parking lot. When I came out I met the owner and we chatted for a few minutes. It's a 2103 that he purchased a couple of years ago that now has 82K on it.

To the nice couple that approached me across from Alice's Restaurant around noon today. I wish I had stopped to talk for a little while. I was dressed, saddled, with a destination in mind, and about to start the motor when you walked up. If you happen to be on the board, give me a shout.

You said you were also on a Big K. I didn't see the bike when I pulled out. So I'm not even sure which model you're on.

You did say that you had been thinking about getting the GPR exhaust but you hadn't seen them live on a Big K before today. I had the connecting pipe and the heat shields ceramic coated at Accessories Plus in Belmont. I couldn't think of the name earlier.

Hope to see you around.

If you look at the picture posted by Quack (#823), with all the reflectors on the back and the MOA sticker on the top box... this one is mine (jfodge), bought from TexanWest on April Fools Day, 2016. I am really glad to confirm that I was not a fool to buy this beautiful thing.

At the time, I was riding a 2004 K1200LTC (named Wolfgang) and had put nearly 40k miles on it in two years, traveling between home and TX or Alaska multiple times.

I bought the K16 because of all the lights and reflecting materials that TW had installed. I like big and visible. The name "Hawkeye" seems to fit this big bird-of-prey that comes hurtling out of space toward you with it's sharp, curved nose and piercing eyes...at speed.

It had 27k miles on it when I bought it. Last week I topped 83k miles (56k in 2.5 years). It has been to Alaska (1x) and TX (2xs) and across the lower 48 (2xs) along with a couple of provinces around the Great Lakes region.

TW had earned an Iron Butt award, and so had rewarded the bike with a couple of stickers...so, I felt that if I was going to leave those stickers on, I should make a ride that deserved such. So, I did a 1,200 mile/24 hours ride and followed it up on the next 12 hours with another 600 miles; qualifying for the first two levels of the IB.

It sure was fun meeting Quack and talking about our rides. Oh, BTW. Quack - I happened to be coming back into Port Angeles later that evening and saw that you were safely on your way home again. Good news.

After a Sunday afternoon ride into Wisc I stopped at Joe's Sporting Goods and parked next to a GTL. After my purchase I was fortunate to find the owner talking with his riding friend (on a Kawasaki) and looking over my bike. We had a nice talk about our history with the K1600 and motorcycles in general since 1977 (yes we both have grey hair). He said he wished he had bought a GT and I couldn't disagree with him since mine looks so much better than his (very biased opinion). Nice end to a nice ride.
