Opinions on this GT?

https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/...878999987.html

2012 GT - 42K so I figure any water pump or switch issues have already arisen and been addressed.

NADA is $8,300-$11,000. With 42K I think $9K would be a reasonable price.

I ran a VIN decode:

X134A Adaptive Headlights
X143A Bluetooth Interface
X182A DTC
X271A Audio System US Preps For GPS
X376A BMW US Radio
X416A ESA
X417A Central Locking System
Q430A Safety Package
Q431A Equipment Package 1
X530A RDC
X603A Alarm Systems

From the pics it looks like it comes with a NAV unit too.

It doesn't have the factory aux lights but I plan to add my own so that isn't a big issue to me.

Loud pipes save egos.

I think $9 would be a steal. Not sure if market there but $9500 -asking price is very fair with the top case, highway pegs, nav, etc. those are $2k of farkles. Especially if they threw on new tires!

Had 2014 gtl premium spring 17 - winter 2019 (rode 25k miles). Bought used Wing to try out (10k miles), Nah-too boring and slow. Like GTL better, bought another GTL. Ha.

My brother has the same bike, color and all, and he has well over 110,000 miles on it and it's going strong.

Wasn't Steve's motor/pistons replaced due to the known issue with the '12 K bikes?

What's up with the front tire, has a tire pressure warning and one of the pics looks like the front is flat (pic 12).
I don't think the price is crazy either way, it's fair but I've seen lower with fewer miles and higher with similar miles.
Not knowing your budget, I'd probably shop around a bit unless you already have and this is the one.

Yes pistons but that was over 70,000 miles ago and since then BMW did an update on the fuel delivery system when backing off on the throttle and I haven't heard of cracked pistons since then. So a word to the wise when buying used, call a BMW dealer with the VIN number and check to make sure all factory updates have been done.

Tell that to @GARS , he had 3 pistons let go a couple of months ago.

And as I've mentioned before, BMW has never officially identified the issue with the '12 piston failures. My dealer/mechanic (Morton's) swares the update you refer to had nothing to do with pistons.

Would love seeing a K1600 go 150000 miles plus.
