Nav VI Boring Bland Colors

Recently picked up the Nav VI and Iím kind of disappointed in the majority of the drive screens as they show little to no color - just bland light brown/beige around my bike icon. All the videos I saw prior to purchases - and even the sticker over the screen - shows vibrant and colorful scenery as you are rolling down the road. Is there an adjustment I need to make (Iíve search and canít find one) or are the roads I travel just not ďruralĒ enough to show some color besides light brown/beige?

Advanced degree in marketing makes bland colors bright and shiny.

Select 3 D terrain as a starting point and see what you get

I understand marketing but Iím talking YouTube videos of regular Joes (one in Virginia and one in UK, plus others) all showing bright colors. Iím sure I have tried the 3D mode but will try again when I get home. Thanks for the reply!

Could it be that you live and ride in an area with only bland brown/beige landscape? Then it's not the fault of the Nav VI

But seriously: you can choose different color schemes: go to "Settings", "Map/Vehicle" and then "Map design" (all translated from German - the wording in the US may differ).
Default scheme is "Garmin". You can choose any other. Unfortunately all the default schemes are quite similar.

Another way is to design your own scheme. I posted instructions how to do that a few years ago - use the search function - it's not difficult if you're familiar with configuration files. You could for example design a map where roads are in orange, brown fields appear in vibrant neon green, or whatever you like.

While bland, those colors are highly readable. I use a different nav app on my phone and wish it used the Garmin color scheme so o could see the names of side roads on the map.

All depends on what Youíre after I guess!
