Wish my buttons where backlit thanks BMW

I was driving at night for the 2rd time with my bike and omg none of my buttons on the left side were lit. I was trying to turn on the fog lights and was hitting every single button on the dam thing.

urghhh yet another grip.

Wish I had some back-lit LED lights on my control handle

Oh boy.
Here come the posts where you are told you should memorize all button positions because buttons don't have to be backlit and BMW knows what's best.

FWIW, I only had to see that button once...turned them on, and never turned them off.

I never switch mine off, so I guess that makes it easier. It was on top of the left switchgear on my 2014, and itís below the reverse button on my 2018. It would freak me out to hit the reverse button while riding down the road. But it doesnít hurt anything.....and donít ask me how I know. 😲

After a couple of night rides, you will not even have to think about it. You will become one with the "Beast".

So if they made the buttons backlit and then they started malfunctioning we would be complaining about that. Backlit switches are great if you could make them fullproof but unfortunately that might be pretty near impossible. These things have too much crap on them to begin with for a motorcycle. But that's just me...

Iím certain BMW has done medical studies with optometrists in terms of what a back lit button does to the eyes focusing on the road at different speeds. I know for my vision I have to play with dash brightness depending of brightness of street and or my lights etc. I find it easier to see at night with minimal dash lights so maybe this is why they are not backlit. And added cost of mfg.
