Auto shutdown???

I recently dropped my bike but when it went down, the engine kept running. I had expected some kind of crash sensor to shut it off our shut off the fuel pump. Does that not exist on the K1600?

I don't think it exists on any motorcycle.

Harley has that feature. They don't lean those bikes over as far, they shut down the motor if they tip over.

My 2004 Honda VTX1800 has it. Shuts the fuel pump off if it senses the bike is on its side.

So did my ST1300. Tested it a couple of times. Actually there was a recall on the early 1300's. The oil damping in the switch would wick out and allow it to activate while the bike was in motion. This would cause the motor to die. The key had to be cycled off and on to reset it.

You would think, with as technologically advanced as the K1600 is, that it would also have it. On my VTX it's one of these: https://www.ebay.com/p/1323548582

The good news is virtually no damage to the bike. The 2 crash bars took the impact Only damage was that the end of the shifter lever was bent up slightly. Easily straightened.

My old Suzuki had that feature too. If tipped over the gas would spill out of the carb float.
