Adam Frasca has set the new Motorcycle Cannonball Record from NYC to LA in 37:07

That's ~2,800 miles in just over 37 hours, at ~75 mph moving average.

A short video of his arrival can be found here.

Yeah, those guys are nuts...

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full.

Congrats to Adam wonder where he shaved that time mabe skipped one hour sleep that Carl took and had no tire issues? We met Carl and the guy who did it before him on a beamer, he had a beer keg for reserve fuel he said hard to control with no baffles in keg fuel sloshing around.

Fuel cell rules for the Iron Butt Rally are quite strict to avoid situations just like that.

Baffles or foam are required, as are solid mounts, quality plumbing/venting, and electrical grounds.

I'm quite impressed with what some of these endurance riders are doing, but us LD riders have already worked out most of the bugs that they seem to keep finding...

All while riding through a blizzard in Utah and getting a "performance award" for 119 in a 75 in NJ. :0

I did Canada to Mexico and back in 44 hours (2951 miles). But that was 15 years ago... wish I'd have given this a go back then!

I wonder how my insurance rates would change if they knew I was attempting records such as this. If I achieved it, could I remain anonymous??

When Alex Roy and Dave Maher beat the Cannonball record in 2006, he waited a full year to announce anything, which allowed the statute of limitations to run out for every jurisdiction he'd driven through. His time of 31:04 for 2,800 miles gave a 90 mph moving average, and an unreported top speed.

This time was beat in 2013 by Ed Bolian, Dave Black, and Dan Huang with a time of 28:50, for a 97 mph moving average.

Both teams switched off with co-drivers. Ed's team had a dedicated passenger just for monitoring all the electronics, and Alex used spotter planes to scout the road ahead...

So in 2015 Alex custom built a car with two fully functional driving positions, added Greg Ledet as a third driver, and enlisted three spotter planes to shatter that record with a NYC to L.A. time of 26:28. That's only 24 minutes stopped time, 106 mph average, and a mind blowing 188 mph max speed.

His stated goal was to shatter the record so badly that it would discourage the dozen or so other teams that try to beat the record every year.

Sure, that was the only reason...
