So the wife and I are in our RV heading back home From Sturgis South Dakota we went down to Moab Utah to spend three days and we did a ride from Moab to Grand Junction and back up through Gateway on Highway 141 and stop by the car museum in Gateway here are some photos by the way 141 is a great highway. By The way it was close to the 300 miles I don’t know where the 212 came from Google map but they’re not even close

You were in @Darbinco ‘s back yard. He has taken us on that loop several times, mostly somewhat above the speed limit . Beautiful ride!

If you're still in the vicinty of Grand Junction, don't miss riding through the Colorado National Monument, just south of town. It's magnificent.

Actually, I'm betting the road you took isn't the same as the map you posted.

The route on your map takes you into a small town called Castle Valley then about 30ish miles of dirt road over the LaSal mountains down John Brown Canyon right into Gateway. I doubt you would have done that on your GA. That mileage is correct but that's not the route you took.

Either way, when you were in Whitewater at the 141/50 junction.. you were 4 miles from my house.

Isn't that new pavement on 141 a dream.. LOL That's my stomping grounds and if you had ridden it before the new pavement you would know what a blessing it is!

This is probably the route you took today. The loop from my house is right around 300 miles, all pavement.

@rsmith

Yes new pavement on 141 from the top of the hill almost all the way to Gateway. I strafed a few days ago... it's sweet!

They aren't quite done yet but what is... is nice and smooth!

I’ve ridden 141 several times but not for a few years. Undoubtedly one of the most scenic roads in the US.

My wife and I have flown to Grand Junction area several times and then spent time in the Moab area. The ride down highway 128 blew us away. The whole area is spectacular, especially Arches National Park. I'd love to spend about a month on an off road bike exploring the hundreds of miles of unpaved roads looking for rock art.
