Double Darkside?

Really enjoying the performance of the Goodyear TriplTred. Over 11k so far and it's hardly even broke in yet...

Still running the hěll out of the front, however...

What's the latest on a good choice for putting a rear tire on the front? On my third front this year and would really like to ride all next season without stopping for new rubber...

Avon Roadrider AM26 in a 130/70-17 size.

Slightly oversized from the factory 120/70-17, but fits and rides well, even in the nasty wet stuff.

See this post for details.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full.
All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Gordont: I see you have only made 11 posts. Would suggest that you do not attack people, you are entitled to your opinion. Your come back could have been: I disagree with this is application. You have no idea who you are offending. As I have not posted but have dealt with some who have and they are not what you have posted. Please don't come back with I didn't mean to offend anyone. When an adult says that to other adult's that's all you meant to do.

Wondering, with the new high mileage Avon tire in our sizes, is running a double dark worthwhile? I am think dark side rear, Avon high mileage front. Thoughts?

The PR4GT is supposed to be high mileage. I've burned through 2-1/2+ front PR4GT's this year. Had I not needed to work instead of riding a planned endurance rally this summer, the one I have now would have needed to been replaced before my 3200 mile weekend last week and I'd be well into my fourth front tire this year. (Not bad for a NoDak rider, eh?)

I would expect running a rear tire on the front to give me at least three times the mileage of a standard front.

Unless the Avon promises three times the mileage of a PR4GT front (I'm getting around 9k from them when I keep them properly inflated), I'm gonna give the Double-D a shot. Even only double the mileage would be a bonus at this point.
