I hate replacing shocks on BMW's, they're never easy.

Sorry you could not join us this week. Was looking forward to meeting you. Hope you are able to ride soon. If RL's shocks were affecting his riding, I couldn't tell. Before, I was able to see his tail lights on occasion, now with the new shocks, they will be just a faint glimmer.

Is there any way to have those shocks installed without going to Florida? Also, how much do they cost?

i had mine installed here in MA, by my dealer. he however had to remove the existing shocks, mail them to flordia to get the brains changed out. They were then shipped back home and installed. All in all it took about a week. It wasn't the end of the world as I have other bikes, and my K16 was due for it's 18000 mile service, but it wasn't simple either. The ESA was the cause of this. I'd imagine any dealer could do it if the ESA wasn't involved. I ask my dealer and he told me he would have to ship them as he didn't have the wilbur computer to translate the settings, and yes he has installed wilburs on my wife F800ST without this issue, but that wasn't ESA.

you all probably know more then I regarding these things. I'm just being a parot of my own experience

I will admit I had a bit of buyers remorse after getting into the pre-order. It was a lot of money to spend on an already great bike, however in hind site I'm sure glad I did

Unless a shock is leaking fluid it isn't going to be a covered warranty item.

620 mile review.

For the last 10,000 miles I've had a bit of a wander with the front tire. Both PR3 and two RS2s. That is gone.

A completely different feel when running over road imperfections. Like the difference between closing an old Kia car door and the solid feel of closing a Mercedes car door.

Twisty testing starts early tomorrow.

What the pictures show is not that hard to get torn down to. The biggest items are the tupper ware and the fuel tank. Mine goes in a week from Friday.
RL how long did it take to install the shocks ?

Both bikes in 7 hours. Focused effort though.

Why the difference? Larger and heavier springs sized for the need. Better shock body components. I should have replaced the worn out stock shocks before 18,000 miles.
