EDIT: Looking at the codes 12,183 is when it happenned
Bought bike in Sept, hit those km in Feb

Here are the error codes
...
Did you do this scan while still in failure mode?

My bike has always (in three failures) returned to normal after shutting off the electrical, so I didn't know if the dealership would still see anything if I rode it in when it wasn't in failure. The service department where I bought it (South Sound BMW in Tacoma, WA) hadn't seen this (yet) and didn't know if it would have recorded a failure or not.

I think the hardware for the shift assist is about a $600 part. Good to have a warranty.

The codes show CURRENT: Y
So think the failure still exists, they could not be cleared.

Will be installing hitch tonight, for which I will disconnect battery for a bit...hoping perhaps this may reset the sensor???? If not, warranty.

By "still in failure mode" I meant was your shift assist functioning again. Mine started working again (three times) after shutting down electrical power and starting up again. I was wondering if the fault code persists for GS911 scan detection after the shift assist starts working again. Evidently it does, which would be a good thing.

Hi. My quickshifter suddenly became really hard to use. Manual changes were unaffected. Went to a nearby Motorrad shop and they reset the resistance settings - that worked but it's happened once since that reset. This time the 'on-off' of the bike reset it.

I mentioned that it happened to my bike as well. Today, it happened 2 more times, both time I shut the bike off, then on, and it worked again. I called the service dept, at the dealer, I purchased the bike from, and was told , it would be 3 weeks until, they could check it out. Then, if parts had to be ordered, I would have to come back. Now...3 weeks to diag it, F me, lol. The other rub is, its a 250 mile round trip, to the dealer.

I'm starting to be convinced that an extended warranty would be wise.

No doubt in my mind. If you have a new bike, you have until the factory warranty ends to get a decent deal on a extended one. I myself, will not own a BMW without one, but I usually trade before the factory warranty ends.

quick questions

I was looking at a 2019 b grand America with premium package

I notice shift assist comes with this package but when i asked the dealer he said it didnt. But I read the tag and it says its does.

Is this located someone in the menu settings where you can turn it on or off?

2019 30k down the drain
