I built a google map that you guys can drop a pin in the city you live in and edit it to add your screen name. I thought it would be a good resource to find other members near your location. You never know, a new riding buddy could be just around the corner!
Theres several ways to drop a pin. You can type your town, state and or country into the search bar and it will drop a yellow pin in that location. Click the yellow pin and and a box appears. Click "add to map" and that should do it.
Once its added to the map you can use the pencil icon to edit in your name and number if you wish.
If you have created a point but need help editing it or just can't seem to get it done just send me a PM with your info.
If you have created a point but didn't edit it to list at the minimum of your screen name to go with it, I will probably delete it after a couple days. I don't want a map full of blank points as it kinda defeats the purpose. If you have problems, I will help.
I've seen them done before on a few other forums I've belonged too. I didn't know how to build and share it but with some research, YouTube and an hour it looks like I got it done.
Great idea, thanks. In the comment box I added my real name and phone number. Now we need to have the moderator make it a sticky so that it would be easy to find.
Adding at least a real first name and a contact number would be like building our own semi-anonymous book of forum members. It's not a bad idea and I doubt I would get anymore unsolicited calls than I do now LOL! I'll change mine shortly.
This is going to get interesting as the pins drop all over the world.
I made a quick access to the map page on my iPhone. This will be a nice addition to the MOA Anonymous book I carry on trips.

Click the map pin, then in the info box that opens, click the pencil looking icon on at the bottom of this box, which allows you to edit the info displayed on the list and when a map pin is clicked upon.

Probably not for long. I'm sure Chris will post his too. We also have a new member here his screen name is daxamundo from Arlington.
Funny little story,
I knew dax from an old Kawasaki Meanstreak forum from about 10 years ago. I seen his screen name here and it looked familiar but I just couldn't figure it out. A couple days later it hit me.. I went back to that old forum and signed in and sure enough same guy! I was kinda surprised all of our old PM's still existed on that other site.
He's a good guy and not far from Chris I don't think.
