Cool Greetings! This is Bob from Walla2

Greetings!
I'm a long time motorcycle enthusiast. My first BMW is a 2014 1600 GTL, which I've had now for almost 2 years. I made the mistake of test driving one of these when I was researching a new (to me) touring bike.

Frankly, nothing comes close in this division! Since purchased, my wife and I have put 12,000 miles on this bike, and will put at least another 2-3,000 on this summer/fall.

I've used this site in the past, but decided to let myself be known...

Hi WallaBob, congrats on the 2 up mileage. I have yet to persuade my dear wife to get on the back of my GT LE. She is so unsure about the BMW she made me keep the Goldwing GL1800!

My wife LOVES the GTL, and has fallen asleep while riding. I threatened to fabricate a seatbelt so she won't fall off!

Welcome from Michigan!

Doing more murders in this loathsome world,
Than these poor compounds that thou mayst not sell.
I sell thee poison; thou hast sold me none.

Welcome! I too have a 14 year model and it's the best BMW I've owned and heads and heels above any other brand I've owned.

1. Welcome!
2. She's fallen ASLEEP? Boy, you DO need to fab a seatbelt for her!
3. At least half my riding is where there's no cell service. This is a conversation I've had many times with young folks and/or tech people with more tech than riding experience:

"I don't get buying a NAV or using anything for music other than my phone. My phone does everything all your stuff does, but cheaper, and without all the poop you hang off your bike." *Remark accompanied by look as if I must have grown up when Lincoln was still in office*

"But at least half my riding is where there is NO cell service, and I need things to work, even when there's no cell signal."

*Response from young city-slicker type is another look which says: Where do you ride, the jungles of Borneo?*

To some, the idea of being in a place with no cell signal is simply unthinkable. But kudos to you, @WallaBob , because that's where a lot of the best riding is!
