Can a 2015 K1600 GT accept a GTL rear seat/trunk setup?

I don't want to buy a GTL if this is all I need.

*I have a gt and need the GTL rear passenger amenities.

Thanks in advance.

as cheap as you can get it on ebay etc. A new luggage rack is not cheap, and neither is a standard topbox

The GTL seat is a single unit vs the GT’s two piece seat, and requires an adapter. You may be better served having your GT seat customized or getting an aftermarket seat rather than buying a GTL seat.

The GT’s existing rack will accept a GTL trunk or a GT / RT trunk - I think all use the same box, and the GTL adds the tall pad (the triangular piece that sticks up above the box isn’t good for anything). Try to find one cheap (forums, eBay, etc) and get it painted or vinyl-wrapped to match your bike.

Even if you pay full price for the above items, it will be cheaper than trading for a GTL, plus you’ll retain the GT’s peg clearance.

I’m not sure on your question. But I gotta say you have a helluva stable!! If I had 3 BMWs, we’d match. Sorry I’m not help on the seat question. I added a top box and stock seat is good for my wife. She needs the comfort and security of the back pad. Good luck on your search.

If the GT seat is uncomfortable for your passenger I suggest a Sargent seat. It will improve both seats for only $800. The trunk will fit regardless of what seat you put on. The GTL rack is black instead of silver and is around $200. It moves the trunk back about 2 inches.

I have a GT and changed over to a GTL seat for no other reason than the lowered seat height. I don't have any intention at this point to buy a TP yet, but there is a company in Europe that sells new OEM color matched TP's for like $1100 USD shipped to your door.

I cant find that info right now. Ill look it up and pass it on in case youre interested. The GT rack is shorter than a GTL rack, they both will accept a tour pack, but the GTL rack is further back so the passenger is allowed more room.

It’s easy to do what you want. When I bought my first GT I bought a GTL Seat and trunk and the adapter for the one piece seat mentioned above. I hated both stock seats and wound up buying a Sargent seat (front only) for my day rides and sent the one piece GTL seat to Russell to turn it into a RDL for long trips and two up riding.

I run a saffire black R1200RT trunk on my 14 sport only when my wife is on board. When going for longer ride I have an Airhawk R for her and DS for me . The truck fits perfect, and she likes it. And it comes off and mounts in seconds.
Picked up brand new trunk on EBay for $800. Much better than spending the $1600 for the GT trunk with electronic locks and color match. AirHawks are "tuneable" and you can easily vary the pressure to change up your contact hot spots. I much prefer the Airhawks after the multitude of Corbin and Sargent seats I have purchased.
Just my opinion...
