Resale value

Anybody having difficulty selling their beloved K1600s? I have had my 2013 lightly used GT advertised on CycleTrader (https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/-5007708139) for a few weeks now well below KBB without any bites. It’s in perfect condition with all the extras but I can’t seem to get any serious interest....

There’s no BMW dealer network in Buffalo, New York—closest is Toronto, Canada or Erie, PA. Not sure if that has anything to do with it? Any suggestions or advice?

Hate to sell her but the wife will only allow one bike and I just bought a 2019 RGCVO....

Your price is more than fair. Sometimes it just takes some time to find a buyer. When I sold my first GTL it was for sale for a few months and then someone showed up with cash in hand for my asking price. Go figure.

Had 2014 gtl premium spring 17 - winter 2019 (rode 25k miles). Bought used Wing to try out (10k miles), Nah-too boring and slow. Like GTL better, bought another GTL. Ha.

It took me most of 3 months to sell my primo, perfect, farkled-out but mostly stock, Kawasaki Concours 1400. Started in early March and finally had a serious buyer in May-- only the second serious buyer, but the first one was a jerk. The buyer had done his homework, experienced long-time rider and didn't even ask for a test ride after seeing it in person. We met up the next day and "poof" she was gone.

The weather this spring has had an impact. Local bike dealers are saying things are slow, just now coming up to normal levels.

I never worry about resale value.

I usually ride them to well over 100K miles, so whatever I can get for it at that point is a bonus...

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full.
All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Yes, good point. The weather has been not so good lately so maybe it will pick up. Will hold on to her for a while until the right buyer comes—or who knows, I can tell the wife i tried and keep it! I love the bike!

Garage
Keep it and sell the CVO, it'll sell much faster than the BMW.

We're in prime riding season for NY and sales seem to slow down now most years. If you don't already...list it on facebook marketplace, touring forums, ebay, craigslist, etc. I buy and sell 5-10 bikes a year as a hobby and these bigger bikes are always more difficult to cash. I just bought a 16 GTL with every bell and whistle, farkles, etc. for only a couple grand more than your asking price. Just a data point for you.
