Fall Rides

Every fall I take a ride to the drivable peaks around NE. One of them is Whiteface Mountain in NY.
I always ride Tracy Road, (Mineville, NY) and take Route 73 into Lake Placid.

The mountain is a fun ride and great views.

I usually wind up on routes 30, 3 and 28. Nice cruising roads.
This year I am looking for something new.

Does anyone have any local knowledge of the area?

No pointers but we will be coming up from PA, stopping at Lake George and then headed up that way (incl whiteface/lake placid) but we have never been in the area so interested as well.

From Lake Placid on 86 to 9N as it follows the Ausable River is a nice ride. Closer to Lake Placid, River Rd connects 86 and 73 (by the Ski Jumps) its a short run but very twisty!!

Keep heading east and you can cross Lake Champlain on one of the ferries and you'll find a lot nice riding in VT.

Planning to make my annual trek to the Adirondacks next week and will be heading into this area.

Considering the east side of Sacandaga Lake and then make my way into Lake George for one leg of the trip. Day 2 will be up into the High Peaks area.

Looking forward to putting some miles on this new GA.
