Riding Utah the third week of April

Planning to head (live in SC) out to Kanab, UT the second/third week of April. Looking at the average temps for April, seems it'll be fine during the day. Just would like some feedback from folks living up in that area or have ridden Utah in April, what is your thought or recommendation. Should I be ok?

Any input is very much appreciated.

You could be a bit early. Iíve hit snow that time of year.

Ok, good to know. Did it burn-off quickly so you could still ride?

It snowed during the night. I just hung around the motel until noontime then got back on the road and got to a lower elevation. That night It dumped a bunch and I would have been stuck for a couple days.

Third week you'll be fine. No worries. A freak storm could put some snow down but the roads will be clear. Bring all your wet and cold weather gear though.

This might go up twice, but I'm running Salt Lake to St. George every weekend. Roads are good. PM me if you need any help or ideas. Spectacular riding.

Have fun! Utah is great. On Mother's Day, in May of '15 [IIRC], we awoke to several inches of snow in Torrey - at the top of UT12.
Have some alternatives as for routes that include altitude. Enjoy!

A group I ride with did a California-Utah loop two years ago end of May. It was the most enjoyable ride I have been on (and we have a lot of good riding in CA). See the link below (if this works) for our route. We started up north and went south. You will have a great time.
