I had the exact same issue on my RT. The fairing intrudes into the space between knee and foot. I could never find a comfortable position. When I got a K, I did not bother with the highway pegs.

Welcome DD! The old wing does have a lot of storage space, but if you narrow it down to what you actually use on a trip compared to what think you’ll use, there’s plenty of space on the GTL.

Yes, that works, but if you don't manually hold the boot back it puts a lot of pressure on the gas cap assembly. Over time, it broke the cap on my RT (which has the same cap design as the K1600).
