Started riding again with a 2008 Kawasaki Nomad in December 2007. Several veteran tour riders made sure I was educated and helped keep my mistakes to a minimum. I learned one cardinal rule, "Never leave home without all of the cold weather gear regardless of how hot it is outside." All the gear has been used at least once on every long touring ride.

In 2015 wanting more amenities the Victory Cross Country Tour fit the best. The CCT was comfortable, handled well, and only needed routine maintenance. Polaris closing Victory was the deciding factor into looking for alternatives. The BMW dealership wanted my business and was willing to talk, more than I can say about the competitors.

Having lost 90 lbs. last year the GTL fits better and feels comfortable. Smooth has a whole new meaning after riding only a few miles. Norma only rides in scenic areas not on the long hauls and her comment was a complete surprise. "Why didn't we buy a BMW in the first place instead of the other bikes?"

Soon to be installed; Ilium engine guard bar, highway pegs, and rear guard bars.
Considering; AeroFlow, MiniWings, and another windscreen for better buffeting control. Open to suggestions?
The GTL will remain mostly stock.
