@dingdong If you save the route as HD Boombox Pre 2019 Route, you will get your waypoints, you actually get two options a track and route. With Waypoints in the App you can modify the route if you want.
You should also use the Tom Tom map in MRA (its what the BMW App uses) but put a layer over it, this is the layers button.
This means the route you plan will be identical to what the the App shows.
The layers are excellent, I quite often use the Michelin map to check out scenic roads.
And don't forget this little button on the left, this will drop you down to street view to look at the road.
@DavidMcK Alright. Thanks for the clarification. I thought @dingdong was suggesting there are route waypoint/shaping point capabilities similar to Basecamp/Nav. My bad -- I read too much into his response.
This link may help those with questions concerning the BMW App, @JohnS1955 note the section on importing GPX files, the App only supports Waypoints not Shaping points.

I just upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S10 to a Galaxy Z Fold 3. I have to say the Z fold is amazing, its not for everyone, but it brings a new perspective to how you look at at your phone.
This is the map loaded from the S10 and is what (more or less) what we all have to work with.
Z Fold 3
Its like a mini tablet and brings phone navigation to more or less reality.
I have a Kickstand for the Z Fold which turns the display on its side and all the Apps I have, Netflix, Google Maps, Co-Pilot, emails, everything auto rotates so that I can work without holding the phone.
Everything auto rotates, EXCEPT THE BMW APP..........................................................................

Tried this set up on a route yesterday, I see what you mean now about visibility of the waypoints, Im going to try a more extensive 100 mile round trip route this afternoon for further investigation.
Thanks David.
