This is not a good image or attitude for police. Why not just put a skull and crossbones for a badge.

This isn’t the Miami Dade motor unit...this is their SWAT team. I imagine this is something special for the Super Bowl.

I did almost write patrol officers.

SWAT might be an exception though I have hard time justifying why a police agency would want to market that image to the public. It reminded me of a few years ago when patrol cops where being put in black chargers with tinted out windows that hid the blue lights.

Fortunately, the local police around me were reminded of DOJ and other police best practices require police to be identifiable and approachable. And Ga Law requires local law enforcement (doesn't apply to State Police) to be in the open and identifiable from 500 ft to give speeding tickets.

I was working REFORGER support in Hofstade, Belgium back in 1990 and we got word that the German four star would be visiting our planning cell to attend a briefing. That popped the security up another level or two and we ended up getting a Belgian paramilitary security team assigned to escort him to/from and also stayed on site while he was with us. They were a motorcycle unit, clad head to toe in proper fitting black leather, outfitted with submachine guns that strapped across their bodies and had black helmets. One of them came inside and removed her black helmet...tall blond with a spiked up hair style (albeit a bit crunched from the helmet). Occupied my dreams for a while after that...
