65 F. 25 mph winds. Must have been much higher gusts.

The wind was mostly still on the mountain roads. But the trees above were gusting. Made it somewhat surreal with the big gusts making it rain debris at times. Mostly the roads were perfectly clean. I did a 120 mile + loop and on the way back I ran into a bit of an obstacle. I dismounted to get a few pictures. Then I realized there was thick tree growth around us, the wind was howling and the trees were dancing. I mounted back up quickly to get out of that area, and had to consult the GPS for the reroute.

It was actually the second felled tree I saw today. The first one was thinner, probably 70 feet. tall. A few locals had pulled it out of the road with their trucks and were turning it into firewood.

Overall though, it was a fine day of riding.

I'm about 1,500 miles into the new year in Utah. Second weekend in a row of snow is dampening my spirit, but every ride is a good one.
