For us in the northern half of the US, winter seems to have started to settle in this week. Any winter projects for your bikes while they are in semi-hibernation? I'll start with a simple one, but it'll solve much frustration for me.

--Add an external satellite radio antenna. Man is the reception on this bike horrid. My wife screams at me thinking I'm doing something to cause the radio to cut off and on and all I'm doing is something simple like, turning, riding under a thick cloud, etc. Lol....

I flipped my 2018 grey GTL for a 2019 white GTL just recently and look forward to applying some vinyl wrap. Not sure what colour or shape but the white as a base is very versatile. Will also be installing a usb charger in my top box and possibly re-upholstering the passenger backrest to eliminate the headrest. Got lots of time, winters up here SUCK!

I have a couple home projects on the list, and they will need some mild weather days to accomplish. About all I have planned for the bike is changing out the phone holder.

I rode my bike a couple weeks ago, but now the temp is firmly in the 30s F and snow is forecast later this week. I planned to do a few things this winter so I added an electric heater for my garage and should attack the following:

1. Replace stock horn on my 2015 GT
2. Add Innov K2 camera - I've had sitting in my office for over a year
3. Remove and clean radiator - change coolant
4. Replace air filter (I'll do another oil change next spring)
5. Replace front/rear brake pads
6. Install @jryan19 handlebar risers
7. Install Skene Photon Blaster lighting on front

I think that's everything. I'm shopping for a table lift to make this easier for me now and going forward...

Considering.....
  1. Upgrading the brake and indicator lights I have on my side cases.
  2. Installing Amber covers on the stock aux/fog lights
  3. Maybe incorporating an indicator repeater into the mirrors.
  4. Adding additional lights inside the top case that actually throw some light when the lid is open.
And I'm sure, whilst I'm doing those, other things may spring to mind.

Haven't even got the bike yet though i believe it is on the water from Germany as we speak ( i hope). As for winter i have several projects,

Oil plug fix From Lemke
Top case delete from Push FDP
Denalli D7 lights
Ez can
Blueseasky front and rear dash cam
Quad lock with BMW fork mount from Arizona Jim
Rear pannier guards (Illium)
Some sort of radar detector mount
Find an easily accessible place to store a pistol
Illium frame cover panels
Turbo installation
Possibly Betsy and Schroedie

Among other things, yes I have a problem. I will try to take videos of all installs.

@RedCard That's a 300 Blackout with suppressor that will be on my back with sling but you always need a backup piece. LOL

@M1A1Commander A lot of people like the Innov camera. I went with Blueseasky since it has a touch screen that can work as a rear view mirror. The Innov has a better quality front camera both on mine are 1080P. This is what i got but i have not installed yet so i can't say yay or nay on quality. Though looks to be a nice unit.

Replace plastic fuel elbow with a metal one
Wilber shocks front and back
New vinyl wrap in areas that are scuffed
Change out drive shaft with rebuilt one, just for PM
New steering spindle to replace the one I buggered up at the TTD
Possibly send 12 year old RDL seat with 150,000 butt miles in for new foam
New plugs and possibly one last valve inspection

Nothing planned on the bike until Spring.
20 degrees and 3" snow right now here in MN is a bit chilly to start a project on the motorcycle. If I had a heated garage it might be a different story.
Come Spring I'll swap out the plugs, clean out the radiator and air filter service. I'll probably wash the thing too.

So while its stowed away under a cover, I'll sit in front of the fire and start planning routes for a couple of trips I have sketched out for next season.

I'm already planning on getting some heaters for the garage. We shall see i don't mind the cold as much as I hate the heat.

Tell me how you go with 2nd last item, that would make me very happy if it could be done.

I need to look into that front/rear camera setup!
Hi Commander
I purchased a Innov5 recently. It’s booked in to be installed early December. Once I work it out I’m sure I will put some short videos up.
I would install myself, doesn’t look to difficult, but I’m to busy and have fingers like Freddie Flintstone. Better to get the experts to do it
