Beware of iOS 11 -Bluetooth issues

With iOS 11, I can no longer get the Garmin SmartLink app to transfer POIs to the Nav6. I'm sure this is also Bluetooth related.

Not with me unfortunately. Two different iPhones and none works when I try to send an address form the mobile to the Nav. A shame because the functionality is awesome.
Same here. The Garmin SmartLink app on my iPhone 7 Plus still won't send an address to my Nav 6.

I still can't connect my iPhone 7 Plus via the SmartLink app to my Nav 6 on iOS 11.1.
Apple really screwed the pooch with their latest Bluetooth implementation .

So, it seems that the update does not impair Bluetooth functionality on the iPhone X but does screw up that functionality on iPhone 6s. Can’t speak to iPhone 7 or 8s. Will there be a fix for iPhone 6owners anytime soon? Could it be that Apple is trying to force people to upgrade to the X?
I have an iPhone X coming next week. I'm hoping my Bluetooth issues are resolved as well with that phone.

I did the same as you - buying another Tune2air dongle thinking the first might be defective, but that wasn't the case. Prior to my iPhone 7 Plus and iOS 11, I also had no issues. I'm crossing my fingers hoping the iPhone X won't have these Bluetooth issues.

With the latest iOS update v11.1.2, I believe my Tune2air device is finally working again. And with the latest Garmin SmartLink app update I can once again transfer addresses to my Nav VI. All is right in the world again.

You should be able to test your Tune2Air in the garage or such. Mine initially worked with my iPhone X, but then would just stop playing even though it was still Bluetooth connected.

I'm beginning to wonder if my bike needs a software update for the audio/Bluetooth side.

My Tune2Air doesn't take very long to stop playing, maybe 5 minutes or less.

I also bought the new BMW iPod adapter with the lightening connector. I have a 7th gen iPod and I get the same stopping of music after a short time, which makes me think a software update for the bike might be needed.

I just updated my iPhone X to iOS v11.3 which was just released to the public. I then connected my Tune2Air to the bike to see if the iOS update fixed the Bluetooth issue I had with it. In my limited testing it looks like the issue may finally be fixed. I can even stream my Amazon Music to the bike now, and the wonder wheel controls playback and the LCD shows the song name being played. Though I can't change Amazon Music playlists from the bike as that has to be done from the phone.

It also looks like full control of Apple Music can be controlled by the bike's wonder wheel from the Tune2Air. After some more testing I might just subscribe to Apple Music for more music variety.

This morning I had to startup the music app on my iPhone before the bike saw the music. That's not really an issue though, and it does seem to be working nicely after some more testing.

I just hope Apple doesn't screw it up in the next update.

I like the flexibility of the wonder wheel in being able to see and control playlist, song and track info on the bike's LCD. That's just personal preference though.

Going on a ride tomorrow with the wife and that will be the real test.
