Doc, I'll be there with Carolyn and another couple. John/Marianne live close by in Clayton, GA; he rides a R1200RS. They'll be sharing cabin 20 with us.
Got my reservation in, sure is easy when you do it a year in advance. In the mean time getting new tires in two weeks and looking forward to see ing every one that can make it at little Switzerland.

Just booked a cabin so the wife and I will be there! Have a friend that lives a few miles from Copperhead that may want to join in with his wife, hes on a S1000XR...I ride the N. GA area a lot and always enjoy the fantastic riding there, looking forward to this event!
The TTW will be run by Kevin & Stephanie Rasmussen (qbird66).
Yes, I will assit in setting it up & make sure everything is in place for another great event. But, my schedule does not allow running two large K1600 events in a year. Yes, we are giving away another KLIM jacket as the Grand Prize, have a big sponsor cake (Pandora's) & will have a free Heniken Keg just like TTD.
I have gotten some communications regarding difficulty scheduling for the September 12th to 15th 2019 Tame the Wolf (TTW) at the Copperhead Motorcycle Lodge (CHML).
:grin:The WHOLE FACILITY IS RESERVED FOR OUR GROUP (until 60 days before the event)!!:grin:
Yes, you can on ON-LINE.
:wink:But, as usual there is a specific procedure that must be followed:
-Go to Copperhead Lodge ? Copperhead Lodge
-Click on RESERVATIONS- https://us01.iqwebbook.com/TLACGA971/
-Pick the dates you are planning on attending. The TTW is from the September 12th to 15th 2019. Yes, some of us are coming early (10th or 11th).
-You will see a tab in BLUE that says “RATE OPTIONS”. Click on it.Under Promotional / Group Code put FBMW (see screen shot). This will now show you what is available for our specific group at the CHML. Now, pick your place to stay. Without the FBMW PROMO CODE the CHML will appear sold out.
Presently, we only have 4 of 11 Lodge rooms left but, there are 24 of 30 cabins available. There are RV slots next to cabin #1 & on the hill. You will need to call the CHML ((706) 835-7433) to get these RV spots. Or, RV & campers can lodge at Crossing Creeks RV Resort (https://www.crossingcreeksrvresort.com ).
We have set up this Fall K1600 Event for all those that cannot seem to make it to the Spring TTD, for those that want to see the guys/ gals & from the TTD & those riders K1600 that just want to ride.
Curious about Copperhead Lodge and the accommodations?
The facility has Lodge rooms (1 - Queen room left) and 1 or 2 bedroom cabins that all have living space, bathroom and a full kitchen. Most have fantastic decks with hot tubs and motorcycle garages. Easy trailer parking is available.
You can view virtual tours of all of the cabins under PLAN YOUR TRIP on Copperhead's website. Make a note of the cabin number and enter it in the Special Requests or Comments section of your reservation. You might put a couple cabin options in order of preference.
When booking your reservation, go straight to the RATE OPTIONS section and enter Promotional/Group code FBMW. If you don't, you will not see any availability!
The block will be released in July so secure your cabin now! You've got 5 months to find a roommate. No deposit required and 3 day cancellation policy! Why would you not?
Hey Folks – are you dying to check out Copperhead Lodge before September’s Tame the Wolf? A handful of us are headed down Wednesday May 29 – Sunday June 2 to see if we can't find any good roads for the event! Copperhead is offering a discount code of BMW19 - grab a cabin and join us! We’ll probably cook out one night like we did last year. If you are coming, please post in the thread linked above so we can plan food. Nothing fancy - burgers and dogs on the grill - and if @K1zzle joins us, he get first dibs!
For the TTW in September, the following accommodations are available:
* 3 - 2 bedroom cabins
* 9 - elite cabins
Last week's "trial run" out of Copperhead Lodge was a blast! We met with the lodge and with our sponsor, Pandora's European Motorsports, to make sure we were all on the same page for September's TTW. As a result, all lodge rooms and cabins now include a 10% discount for the event. We also got to ride some fantastic twisties!
Note: the remaining 1 bedroom cabins have a second place to sleep, in the form of a pullout couch and/or a loft - contact the lodge if you have any questions.
If you haven't yet reserved your spot for the TTW, get er done!
Last call for rooms for Tame the Wolf at Copperhead Lodge in Blairsville GA – reservation deadline extended to August 10!
If you like riding some of the best motorcycle roads in the Southeast with highs in the upper 70’s and lows in the mid 50’s, you can’t miss this September event.
There will be plenty of routes for you to choose from to suit your mood or join in one of the group rides.
Thursday, our event sponsor, Pandora’s European Motorsports, is rolling out a keg for after ride refreshment through the weekend. Enjoy dinner in the on-site restaurant or grill out with friends at your cabin – either way, there are plenty of gathering spaces to choose from.
The weekend will bring prizes provided by Pandora’s and a 50/50 drawing.
If you can only pop in for a night, Copperhead has a fantastic 4 bunk (8 bed), bunkhouse. Just email guestservices@copperheadlodge.com and let them know you’d like to book a bunk for the event.
When booking your cabin, go straight to the RATE OPTIONS section and enter Promotional/Group code FBMW. If you don't, you will not see any availability!
We look forward riding with friends and making new ones.
The K1600 Forum SE Riders set up the TTW for the guys who could not get to the TTD because, "It was booked up".
:grin:Well here is your opportunity!!:grin:
Get to meet other K1600 owners, ride some amazing roads, drink & partispate in the Raffle for a High End KLIM jacket at one of the best motorcycle resorts in the SouthEast- CopperHead Lodge, Blairseville, GA. Not to mention a FREE KEG & a 50/50 of BMW Stuff from a BMW Mottorad Sponsor- Pandora's.
This is everyone's first TTW. There has never been one before. Thanks Stephanie and Kevin for putting it together. Sorry Jan and I are going to miss it [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] particularly since it's only about 5 miles from our house. But we have had our California ride planned for a long time now. Anyway, if TTD is any indication we will have many opportunities to attend TTW in the future. We will miss seeing you guys. Have fun and ride safe.
