There is a set of firmware updates for the various versions of the Nav6. The latest hardware versions v8 and v9 got 10.10 and 10.40. Hardware versions and other info can be obtained from the info screen of the NAV6.
I had initial issues with update for v8 (false memory warnings) and slow response time. Did a full factory reset and all set now.

Yes, nothing new after 10.30/40. Appears that NAV 6 is beyond treatment after Garmin BMW fallout
