@TouringTim Vibration, what vibration?????????

Put this into context, the 1250 boxer has been out for almost 5 years, how many reviews have been written about bikes with that engine?

How many units have been sold in the various combinations and how many riders have complained about vibration?

@JohnS1955 found one review and he talked about Buzz in a 500 Rev range, well done John 😇 😇

Maybe the guy had thin underpants on that day (or perhaps none at all), but he is one in a million.

😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Now, given your European riding profile, your RT experiences in the higher speed 4500-5,000 RPM range might be limited. Or maybe they've been such short distances that you didn't give it much thought. His review experience does appear to be real, just like your experiment exposing 1250 vibration was real. I hope this clarifies things.
John on my European tours I usually meet my wife and have a short holiday then I have to "Bomb" home while she catches a flight. This year it looks like we will be in Nice, so that is a 800 mile run to Cherbourg, that's probably a day and a half depending on when the ferry is leaving Cherbourg. Anyway, that is a run up the toll roads of France at 80-90/95 miles an hour depending on weather etc.

I can honestly say that I have never experienced a "Buzz" or any sort of vibration and the rev range I am at is smack in the middle of what your reviewer comments on.

Put simply, from what I can tell he is the only one who has "Discovered" this and reported it.

Put simply (and agreed by all) the K16 engine is the smoothest in the market.

But IMHO (and the opinion of others on this forum) the RT 1250 engine is very, very smooth.

Why not try one out.............................................................

@JohnS1955 When I first rode a RT it was 2005 and I needed a touring bike for Europe, I had a Blackbird at the time. So I took a ride on a mates RT to see what all the fuss was about.

The RT compared to the Blackbird was like comparing a tractor to a limo, but I was convinced by mates, I was told the RT had "Character" as well as many other positive qualities.

I had three of them, the last a 2010 bike before I started on the K16's. When I got my 2012 K16 it was back to having a limo again, even smoother than the Blackbird and I thought it was smooth.

When I went from the 2017 K16 to a 2019 R250RT I thought it might be a backward step again (from a smoothness point of view) but I was delighted, the RT and the 1250 engine had been refined completely from my 2010 bike.

Many others will have followed a similar route to mine e.g. 4 cylinder bike to Boxer engine and then the K16 and are wondering if the RT has changed and the answer is it has. It will never be as vibration free as the K16 but its not far away.

I understand completely the ergonomics that you describe and the reason why the K16 is the right bike for you, but, the reputation the Boxer bikes once had for vibration should be put to bed, they are a completely different breed nowadays and if anyone doubts that they should try one out.
