I tried to get mine "off" once and couldn't. Have not tried again, figured I would have to read the dang manual. It should not have been that hard. My R1200RT wasn't hard, but slept a few time since then. Haven't tried it since. I was going to do just as you were - try it at the H position. Will be interested in your experience with the RDL on this Grand. My Grand does have the low seat partnumber on it.

So I finally tried changing the seat height adjustment on my Grand (the front seat mount flips over for "H"), however, when I did, I could not get the set to latch down. I tried many way to finagle to seat to latch in the back to no avail; leading me to believe it just won't seat properly on "H".
Has anyone with a Grand tried to set the seat position up?
Not too much of an issue for me as I am in cue for an RDL in September.

I also tried to put my seat in the H position and was unsuccessful too. It was easy to interchange heights on my GTL, but I don't think it's possible to do on the GA. I noticed that the black plastic "screw" in the center of the bracket holding it down was a b**** to remove, so maybe it's designed to not be able to change from L to H.
I do believe the bracket only works for two piece seats for the GTL. If you have a one piece seat the seat will only mount properly on the low position, I assume this is true for the GA and B as well, since they also have a one piece stock seat.

While the little flip bracket is on all the bikes it's only supposed to work on the GT two piece seat. Why? Because the pan is no longer supported on the longer one piece seat if it's in the high position.

Yea, works like a charm on my '13 GTL to lower the 1 piece seat. Don't know about raising the seat on a GA.Not to bring back an old thread but I saw this
