Hello all

Just signing in from Sydney, Australia. After 2 years of Ducati ownership and 39,000km I've sold my Diavel and bought a K1600GT. 3 weeks and 1,300km and I'm looking forward to the 1,500km I'm doing this weekend

I've picked up a Montego Blue 2013 K1600GT with Aux lights, top box and Genuine Engine bars. Already fitted 3M protective film and an Aeroflow headlight protector

Looking forward to contributing to the forum and getting other people's insights

Congrats on the bike and welcome aboard.
Lots of info here. There's a specialist on almost any subject you might think of. Just do a search or ask.
Many safe miles with lots of smiles.

Hey now, welcome Wolf! Quite a nice new ride you have. Do enjoy her safely.

Too bad you didn't keep the Ducati. I'm a big fan of the multi bike garage! :k16:

Another Oz rider! My regular wingman has just traded his K1300R for a bike the same spec as yours. His picking it up on Thursday. My '11 GT has been around longer to collect more extras.

Thanks for the welcome guys. After the number of issues I've had with the Diavel I decided to buy a bike that was designed to do what I wanted rather than modify something that looks pretty to do what I needed

It was pretty well sorted but I just had too many warranty issues

I also had a small commuter which I've since sold too... the Italian purge is complete. The big K is not alone in the garage - a mate of mine virtually gave away his VTR1000 which I just need to get reregistered in the next few weeks

I rode the Diavel at a Ducati/Cycle World event, well built bike, nice suspension and engine. What did not grow on me was the seating position. While the bike was every responsive and stable you are neither sitting back cin a relaxed position nor are you leaning forward in an athletic position and it certainly is not like a standard such as CB450. Not trying to take shots at the bike, just not the one for me. K1600GT on the other hand :k16:

I can understand that Seamuis, to be honest I'm still getting used to the position of the GT, it feels completely different

I clicked over 2500km today, cruising some of my favourite roads in southern NSW and Vic. The pics on my iPhone are too big to upload so will sort something out when I'm home
