Sorry if this is a repeat issue, I can't seem to find on this forum a resolution (or at least a recent update).

I just purchased the Schuberth C4 (got a great deal, happy about that). I'm not in a rush to buy/install the Sena SC1 and reading reviews online see they are pretty weak overall (with a few exceptions).

I've seen mentions of a possible SC2 coming in forums (a new improved version of the SC1). Is that an urban myth or will those come soon?

Googling I found just two examples of it being available:

https://www.motocard.com/en/electronic-gear/schuberth-sc2.aspx

https://www.eurobikes.uk/schuberth-sc2-bluetooth-helmet-intercom-for-c4-pro-pro-carbon-c4-r2-5557

Are these really the updated version? The fact it's in only two places that I can find online makes me wonder if these are legit.

Any thoughts on whether to wait or buy are appreciated.

I just watched a YT video that says the SC2 was cancelled and instead they released a firmware update for the SC1. Details are in this video at 3:34

I can confirm that this is correct. I almost stole an orange C4, despite my love for Arai, and it fits my headshape better than the newer C4Pro, in which they changed the shape slightly. New firmware GREATLY improves the thing. How do I know? Because I first tried to use it without updating the firmware. Night and day different, including not only function, but sound quality and volume. Slight step down from my SENA 20S Evo, but only slight. Controls are much more annoying to use with gloved hands, but we all know that's the price we pay when we go to an integrated setup.

When I want a modular, I'm very happy with this setup for the price I paid. New, full-price helmet, probably not so much, but since the OP got a deal, too, he ought to be very happy with the new firmware on the "old" SC1.

Thanks for the update. I'm considering a Schuberth R2 with SC1 for comms, which is why I was researching and came across that video. Still on the fence but we know how long that lasts when bike gear's involved

You got yourself a great helmet. They get some great reviews in Europe too. I am a 3/4 helmet guy, so the M1 Pro is my next right after Christmas when pricing will drop like flies. After so many Shoei, I have to give them a chance. I heard that the SC1 had some sound quality issue and the SC2 will resolve that. I guess it changed now. That is why Revzilla emailed me that it is on a long B/O from few months ago.

I didn't understand why they were considering offering an SC2. The firmware update took care of the major issues (and they were significant). I think they were going to throw in a remote with the SC2, but little else. I've found the SC1 to be just fine now.
