No, worries @jorgebri60 I believe you. I have believed everyone who says it. I was just watching a YouTube reviewer say the exact same thing - I believed him. I'm willing to accept that I am in the minority and lucky.

I just don't like the characterization by the GTL/GT guys that their bike absolutely, cannot, ever, and has never had a wobble and that all B's are inferior and guaranteed to wobble. It's a weird bias and superiority thing I've felt amongst the pilots here.

I get it! Just don't let it get to you. @JohnS1955 is one of the kindest and most politically correct people I've found on this forum. I don't think he means any Ill will when he's commenting as opposed to others that will blatantly make SA remarks about the B. I just take it as "whatever" and move on. It is what it is, I still love the bike and what it offers for the kind of riding I like to do. Ride safe out there my friend and go have a cup of coffee ;) .

Please refenced the post where is said this. I don't remember, and want to read it in context.
No thanks @JohnS1955 . As I said when you told me I was wrong for saying my toes got hot - you just like to contradict me. Let's not hijack the OP's post to have a pissing contest.
How bout them Cowboys ;) . They're off to a great start this year huh (y).

We could use all of these posts over the years on this subject to create a Wikipedia page there is so much information, opinions, and feelings. This topic and the passion it incites always makes for good reading and never ceases to make me smile.

Rubber down lady and gentlemen.

I didn't think so on the GPS......

But I did find the "toes" reference. Again, you're completely misrepresenting our exchange. I'm not going to derail this thread pointing out the inconvenient details.

To the topic, I would just encourage anyone looking at the real or perceived wobble issue to look at the whole picture. That means what's reported in all places, and evaluating the sources and numbers accordingly. If you have a "B" and enjoy it, continue on.... The joy you're personally experiencing is all that matters

hey @JohnS1955 , I have a proposal for you or any of you that I may at some point have the pleasure of riding with, I'd like to propose, or ask even, that we switch bikes for a bit so you can see what the "weave" feels like. I've been wanting to ride a GT/GTL just so feel what the differences are. ;)

Absolutely! You're welcome to ride my overly dirty GTL when we hopefully join for a ride next year. And I'd really enjoy riding a "B" in some real world conditions. You're on!

Be careful asking @Thomas to do a switch. You could eat off his GT, and he's very discriminating about who approaches his ride. ;)

I just jumped on. Have a '21 GA and definitely have the wobble. Feels like riding on grooved pavement above 70 MPH. Shame since I really wanted to love this bike. Bought it because the pillion height is lower, easier for my wife to mount, than the GTL. She hates the back of my GS... Yet the "wobble" is so unnerving that after 800 miles on the odometer, I just don't ride the bike any longer. Swapped the tires for RP5s and took the boards off. Still the same. Sucks because this was going to be my highway machine. Very disappointed in BMW over this. This is just my two cents...

Man, this topic just doesn't go away (that says something about topic BTW ;) ). I for one choose to just accept it as a characteristic of the B. Yes I was a bit freaked out at first, but I really wanted to like this bike because of how it looks and the power and handling it offers so I kept at it. There have been some comments about some of the GT and GTL models, but by far the most have been about the B derivatives. I understand BMW (or any brand really) owners and the tendency to defend the brand and even the specific models we own, but just the mere fact that there's discussion after discussion after discussion of the anomaly says something going on with these bikes. I've posted on several of these threads about the bike just being "different" than the GW and HD tourers (I have many years and hundreds of thousands of miles of experience on both models). This being my first real BMW, I noticed the behavior from the very first time I rode a brand spanking new off the showroom floor B model. I've ridden 3 B models now, including my own, and they ALL have the exact same behavior. @bhobbs1981, if you have never experienced it, then good for you. Many of the B owners on this and other resources have, I refer back to my comment about how many threads one finds about the topic. As for the NTHSA and the complaints they have, somewhere buried in those complaints is mine and I'm actually one of the people that they have contacted and asked me to run some tests for them that involve having someone drive behind me video-taping the bike. During my last group ride, several riders mentioned to me how bad the bike weaved at times. They asked if something was wrong with the bike. Again, I've just gotten used to it and accepted it as part of the bike's behavior. It doesn't have to be behind a trailer or even a car in some instances. Any dirty air will cause even a little bit of wobble. Speed is not the culprit either. My bike will behave the same at 50 or 150, the same weave may or may not occur. I will say that the weather and tires have a lot to do with it because it won't always do it. I, for instance, will experience it (even just last night) when a cold front is moving in and we have a bunch of unstable air (both in the air as well as on the surface. Yes I am a pilot so I notice these things). That has been one consistent fact that I have found. The other has been the tires. I recently replaced the tires with a new set of RS4s and while the bike handles curves way better than what came off the bike, the weave got worse and more prominent. The federales seem to think it's the floorboards on our B models causing the bike to want to lift, I don't necessarily agree with that, but it's one of the items I need to test out. I'll be removing them to see if, in fact, they do cause a difference. Anyway, probably too late for this, but long story short, these bikes do NOT act like your average GW or HD tourer when it comes to traveling down the highways. But!, it's a trade-off I, and I'm sure many others, are willing to put up with because of the superior handling when it comes to the type of riding I choose to do and is the reason I own one of these bikes to begin with. The saga continues....
Hi, did you remove the floorboards and if so, did it help?

I did, and it did not. I put them right back on cause I really like the look of the bike with them and they're really comfortable on long rides. On my radar is the purchase of wunderlich front crash bars and some kuryakyn ISO Dually pegs. That will stretch my legs out further than the stock floorboards will which is one of the things I desperately need because of the knee replacements I had. I need to stretch them out often.

Hi, thanks for the reply and good to know that it did not help with the wobble. Seems like there is nothing to be done about it.

No problem. As I’ve posted several times, it’s just the nature of that model and I’ve just gotten used to it. It more than compensates for it in other ways, mainly the way it handles curvy off-interstate roads.
