Do you know these 'bikers"? Or are you just going to some random biker bar to meet some strangers? Just curious. 🧐
Phil are you going to Russia on this bike, wow, that's brave, I've flown there and to Ukraine and a few other old eastern bloc countries but never driven further East than the EU border. Given the roads, you may want to consider something more rugged. A KTM or GS or something.

Have you done that trip before?

I would take something old as well, it may not come back or might disappear whilst you're sleeping.

It will be an amazing story I'm sure

I am considering purchasing either of these 2 bikes ...!

K1600 GTL .Well serviced but blowing blue/white smoke !
50.057 miles on clock !

Seller really honest.

Advice please.

K1200GT Not so well Serviced but only has 21.563 miles on clock.

Seller old man ( Pilot )

Phil
How much service do you expect from 20,000 miles? That's a good sign, not a bad one.

OH, they'll approach him, checking out the K bike. Be a hit at a bike meet. Hope you speak Russian. And, just for kicks, have you checked your bike insurance for Russia? I'd rent a Ural, with sidecar for wife translator.

He can take a Ural, they'll never touch it. But a k1600, is easily worth twice as much there as in Britain, make some guy rich. Russia by road, yowsah, that's cojones. At a time like this. Maybe sightsee Belarus on the way?
Hook up with the Night Wolves on May 8 in Berlin, then ride back with them. Now that would be an adventure.

This whole story has left me confused.
Stay away from both bikes as well as the Triumph, you wouldn't be comfortable on the Triumph and either bike could be a mechanical nightmare.
Like others said, look for another K16, you'll find one.

Walter Mitty! Is that you? It’s not adding up, a guy that is going to hangout with this group I’m thinking would already be riding something/know what he wants and I doubt they would be on this site. Almost like someone writing that they’ll be riding with a 1% club while writing on a HD forum asking what model they should ride? … but hey anything is possible.

Haha yes, I was first to comment and thought twice as reporting it as spam because the first comment made no sense whatsoever! Sorry for starting this lol

Good one Phil!

The Night Wolves core, maybe, but there are others that ride with them, and they ride all kinds of bikes. Heck, Putin, rides a Harley Trike with the group. These are Russians, they're hospitable, especially if he brings the wife and she can translate the back and forth, and they **** well know that he's an outside the box thinker. They mentality fit right in with 'conservative' Americans, and they can they trade ancestral war stories about the common enemy. If the rally is held in Berlin this year, because of Covid, but also because of politics, it wasn't permitted several years in the democracies east of France.
All that said, this year is not a good year to be there, especially for someone unescorted by a local.

Yeah I know them ! They are Christian bikers !
That they are, some of them. Orthodox. Others not so much. You're for real. But don't buy the bikes, and don't go with a K1600 because that's like walking into a penitentiary with wads of cash pinned to your hat. If you gotta ride in Moscow, go with an organized bike tour. Your life might depend on it.

Putin rides with them on a trike, well then they must be ok….I stand corrected.
