In 2019 and again this year my brothers and 3 friends rented cabins in Mt. View, AR for a week. A couple of the friends recently mentioned we should do that again next year. It was the first week in May which means it was cool and no mosquitos. Maybe something like that next year for some of you that are new to the area or like it a lot.

It got only up to about 85 in the hills today. It’s a scorching 99 in the big city of Joplin now.

Sounds like a good ride. Lot of folks don’t know much about MO’s roads.
Deer. Came close to tagging one a few weeks ago. Not much you can do in few seconds you have…if you have the few seconds. The man was looking over you yesterday.

We are getting an occupancy permit this Friday! Soooo......we will start carrying things down after that. We are literally moving 3 blocks down the road.
Well at least you won’t degrade another neighborhood. I bet your old neighbors are doing fist pumps .😂 Have fun moving Danny…glad it’s you & not me.

Just bouncing in to see all that I've missed with you hooligans. It's been crickets in here since Aug 7.... ya'll on a 22 day ride together?

I've been working on other people's bikes the past 4 weeks. I have 3 honda valkyries lined up to rebuild the 6 carbs on. That takes a solid 12 hours from start to finish. I had a buddy fly in from San Antonio to ride his.. new to him valkyrie back after I went through it.

We got out and rode Saturday for about 250 miles. It was a bit warm but not horrible.

I'm up for a ride and available starting the weekend of Sept 10th. One day ride for sure. I do like the idea of Eureka Springs. We go in early May with a group of Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Missouri folks. Great friends if any of you are interested to join us I'll share when I know for certain the dates.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the nice weather this week. Holler if you want to meet up. I'm off until Thursday. I do teach my son school so it would have to be afternoons.

Looks like I'm riding down to AR early Sat AM with my son on the back. He'll be 17 soon. He's not ridden a full day ride with me before. But he's game. I just need to keep him awake from KC to Springfield and just beyond. I think his interest and excitement level will naturally increase when we hit some curves just outside of Springfield. Don't know where we'll stay Sat night, but Eureka Springs is a prime candidate. Sun morning we'll bfast and try to find an enjoyable path over to Joplin for an event that afternoon. I might be tied up on a Sat or two after that scouting and installing tree stands on a couple different properties. But it shouldn't be all and every weekend. Just a couple single weekend days.

@Stude godspeed with all the rebuild work!

Holy smokes where has this entire summer gone?
Time flies when you’re having fun, right? And when you’re in the second half of the hourglass sand! Also when you’re working your fanny off.

@J-Luv may I recommend Edelweiss Inn. The owner is Robert Schmid. He and his wife own and live on the property. Great restaurants (walking distance)

Give them a call...

It looks like they require a 2 night stay. Likely bc it's Labor Day weekend. I may try later in the week and see if they want to let one room go for just the one night.

Hey mention cash also. If they don't; have to put it on the books I have found rooms several times late at night and on holiday weekends if we agree to clean up after ourselves.

Was this at the No-tell Motel??? 😂
I will call down there most likely. We could actually go down Fri night and stay...but I'll call maybe Wed and see if anything is available for just Sat. Something not yet reserved.

Well, plans change. On Th I ended up in the ER with my son. Injured his leg in a soccer match. We did win the match. He had his side locked down. But he needed to leave early. No fracture. But a bad bone bruise.

So he’s not riding with me today. I decided to get up early and ride 220 miles to Eureka Springs AR for breakfast. Eating at Oscar’s. Met a guy with a GT! Not on the forum, but I encouraged him to join. Going to be a good day.

I recommend Oscar’s! I had a Nordic waffle. Whole wheat, smoked salmon mousse, lemon, avocado, arugula, and half a hard boiled egg. Plus a low fat latte with almond milk. Delicious. Cool and overcast. Gonna pull out the map and pick some curvy roads and have a day we’ll spent.

He’s a long time bike mechanic. There was a whole group of rider friends. Only a couple on bikes. They called themselves the brake fast group. They always brake fast for breakfast.A bunch of friendly characters.
Taking a break myself, I’m Jasper. Met a fellow on a gorgeous mint 2005 ST. He’s in the forum. He wld love a K, but there is no dealer in AR. I’ve already forgotten his forum name. 🤦‍♂️
