Left side storage compartment - anyone got pics of how it should look inside?

I popped open the left storage compartment to get my registration out and now it won't close. I took it apart and can't figure out how the mechanism works inside. Specifically, I'm not seeing how the push button interacts with the release shaft, for lack of a better word. I know I have an example on the other side, but figured I'd ask here in case someone else has taken it apart.

Par for the course today. Gas cap wouldn't open at the station. Now this. Gotta take the bike to the dealer in the morning to get the recall done.

My 2022 GTL has had times when the left lower cubby will not latch shut also. I sprayed silicone around the button and the latch and that usually did the trick. This last time I took off the outer cover and lubed everything up much more than I could have done without taking it apart and so far it seems to be working. Of course its under warranty and if it persists I will see about a warranty action on it. From what I can see it is simply a mechanical connection of a tiny wire that pulls the latch when you press the button, and it appears that it will not latch itself, at times, like the spring is not strong enough. When you pay that much for a new motorcycle it is a bit annoying when something so simple does not work!
It had a lot of dirt and grit in it. I washed it out and after a few attempts, got it reassembled. I'll post a pic of it when I get a chance.
My new 2022 GT also had a failure of the left storage compartment door, it would not latch and it would stay open. The bike was only 4 months old so it was not a problem of collected dirt. The dealer fixed it under warranty by installing new parts, told me "we haven't seen this before, it doesn't happen often". At least they did good work fixing it.

Same. The only solution I've found so far is repeated motivated closures. 3 recorded instances on '22s in this thread is maybe not indicative of a series wide trend, but does make one wonder.
