Howdy from Laurel MD. Just a bought a new K1600, and looking to put some miles on it. Wife stated "you are turning 50 next year, how about a new bike"....done! Traded in my 2017 Africa twin DCT for the 2023 K1600GT...only thing really similar between the two bikes is the red/white/blue color scheme. Will miss the DCT, loved putting it into manual and flipping thru the gear with ones finger/thumb. If you want a well taken care AT, head to Bobs BMW.

I ride all year round weather dependent of course. From Western Canada, sports fan, primarily Hockey and football. used to Golf, but not sure one could call me a golfer. I sort of combine hockey/baseball into my swing, lol But I am above average at drinking beer!!.

If you are looking to go for a ride, shoot me a message. One can private message here correct? or reply here. I'm not a super chatty guy, more of an introvert. Cheers, Scott

I am in Colorado, I also ride year round, just less in the winter time. I will go for a ride later today, the high will be in the mid 50's and the roads are clear and dry. Mine had about 900 miles on it when I brought it in for the 600 mile service a couple of months ago. This big biker handles Colorado canyon roads very well.

Temp Was just above freezing this morning.....of course abit warmer in the garage. Its not a fan of starting up in the cold weather.....Manual says pull the clutch and give it some throttle when starting, will have to try that. Starting it up for my trip home....it died twice on me when trying to start it.....Guess its bit of a diva, lol Have found that #4 on the grips is way too hot!! Love the lights, make a huge difference riding in the dark

I found mine was finicky starting completely cold, first time in the morning, until about 300 miles on the odometer. Then it just acted normal. I don't know why, maybe it was stale gas in the tank.

A word of caution, if you plan on running the bike occasionally in the cold....after a really long cold soak, be careful bringing the bike off the center stand. Some bikes have had front suspension leaks caused by this

Congratulations on the new bike! I did a similar thing myself: traded a 2016 S1000XR for a 2018 GTL a couple of months ago. Much better two-up and silky smooth all around compared to the XR. Still a blast, and only had 9K on the odo, so I figured just broken-in!

Not a bad day for a ride, around +8 C (48F) Got the first "wave" in to another rider, surprisingly, there was a fair # of bikes on the road. #4 on the grips is way too hot....even with my summer gloves. Bike is a joy to ride. It seems to be an older chick magnet......twice now, older ladies have stated it looks very nice, lol

Installed the Ilium Works Rear Guard Bars.....super easy install, and don't even notice them. Tomorrow plan to wash it and Polish wax it. Big fan of AMMO products. Will Apply Ammo Reflex Pro and then top it with AMMO REFLEX PRO FINISHING WAX. I applied the Reflex Pro to my Volvo XC 60 and was impressive. Even if you don't like the Ammo products, The Owner (larry) puts out some great "how-to" videos

If your up for a ride, give me a shout.

Another nice day. Nearly 1300 miles on the bike now. Got onto 32N then ventured off the beaten path to Patapsco park and kept going North for Awhile Past a few rifle ranges. Need to find some more off the beaten path roads.
