Nice ride down Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Pkwy

My wife and I had a really nice day riding from Fredericksburg out to the Shenandoah Valley, then south on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a bit. The dive off the parkway to Vesuvius was a new experience. Steep and crazy blind turns, but fun in its own way. Definitely good practice in downhill corners.
Had dinner in a little place called Osceola Mill, amazing food. They grow some of the veggies in the garden right next to the place. Worth a visit if you are in the area. More exploration tomorrow!

Enjoy coming father south down the Parkway. Waive as you go through western NC. Beautiful ride. Make sure to pull off at several of the overlooks along the way...

Beautiful ride! The BRP and the roads surrounding it just never get old. My wife and I will be headed down there during 4th of July weekend for 3 full days of riding west to the Pisgah Inn beginning at lunchtime in Little Switzerland on the 1st, then a day of criss-crossing the mountains west of Asheville, and topped off by the Cherohala Skyway before heading off to a family gathering.

Anyone is welcome to join us on any of those days.

Couldn't have picked better places to ride, to stay and to eat.

SSSHHHHH!! Dang it, Brett! Quit letting the cat outta the bag!

Er. Uh. Nothing to see here. No roads worth riding in WNC/ETN. Way better roads over in the Ringgold, GA area!😀

I just did Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Pkwy this past weekend. We started in Front Royal, VA and rode the entire length down to Waynesboro. I was surprised there wasn't more traffic through the park and we pretty much had the entire road to ourselves. Saturday we picked up Blue Ridge Pkwy in Waynesboro with a goal of riding the Pkwy to Mabry Mills and then heading west to Marion, VA but after close to 100 miles we came up on a detour that forced us off the Pkwy. Great road and awesome scenery.

Sounds like a great ride. I plan to ride to the Vermont / Quebec border and stare south longingly until they let me cross.

I had a trip heading up into Quebec planned last July, it got cancelled. Gotta get back up there for a tour soon

I’ll ride up and stare right back. One of my bucket list rides is to go across Canada.
