I've found that when riding rough surfaces or gravel, I can maximize control over the throttle by moving my right hand pinky on to the bar end. This makes use of the bar end as a fixed anchor and eliminates twitchy wrist movements that cause engine surging or bogging. Hope this helps others.

Thanks, I’ll try it. Having been a band geek, my right pinky is permanently bent to the outside from the hook forward of the three valves on a heavy marching baritone, so even with an 8.5” glove size, I’m good to go!
