So is it the same battery that is listed for the 20 and 30 units?

Update 8-3-2022 I received and installed the 950 mAh battery from Amazon. No issue with fitment. I have revised my initial post to reflect what I did to change the battery. All information in the first post is accurate. If you try this and run into a stumbling block send me a message (conversation) with your phone number and I'll give you a call. Even better if you have an iPhone; FaceTime ..

Let us know if the longevity is better after she gets a chance to use it on your couples ride in a few weeks.

I was thinking about ordering one of these batteries but was too lazy to search for Duane's thread then today POP there it was so I ordered one also.
Thanks Duane and Ron.

Success! Got the battery this evening and went to work after watching the video and reviewing your updated instructions post several times. Took about 30 minutes. Yes the key is the heat gun with X-acto knife to the connector pins at the bottom of the unit. The only thing I would add for everyone is to be careful with the antenna itself (no need to disconnect it internally). In normal operation it raises to about a 45 degree angle, but once you separate the two halves the antenna can be raised to almost 90 degrees. If you try to lower it to the normal stowed position after you button up everything and tighten all the screws it won’t go back down…it’s still locked in an “L” shaped position and won’t go past the pivot point. So be sure to lower back past 45 degrees or lower before you tighten everything back down. Having said that, I don’t know if I really needed to raise the antenna at all or not…I just went by what I saw in the video and photos. Also a mini heat gun would be preferable for more focused heat application to the connector pins area, as opposed to the larger one that I have in which you run the risk of heating/damaging the whole unit which I miraculously managed to avoid…. YMMV.

The battery came almost fully charged…after 10 minutes I got the blue light. I’ll try to get in a full local day ride in the next few days to check battery life and leave it on mesh until it dies or I get home first.

Thanks again Duane!🍻(y)
Ron,
I got my battery today too. You're scaring me with your cautions. The only heat gun I have is one the size of a hair dryer from Harbor Freight. I'm sure once I get into it I will think of a way around it (I hope).

I finally swapped out batteries today with some encouragement from Duane, his write up in Post #1 and the video (following step 2 for removal of the circuit board) I was done in about 30 minutes. I used a good tweezer instead of needle nose pliers both to disconnect and connect the battery and to work with the small screws. You will need a good very small Philips screw driver to use on the screws, especially the 2 small ones.

By the way I was curious if I would have to re-pair things to the Sena afterwards but I didn't, every feature worked just fine.

I'm running out of winter projects for the bike so come on warm weather (it's raining today) 😢

How old and how much usage has it received?
