Moved to a HD TriGlide today, so my wife could start riding with me again. Lower back issues kept her from riding 2 wheels. I have some accy items that I will be posting in sale section over next week or so. One item will be factory exhausts that have been Cerecoated flat black that matches black exhaust tip trim. I installed Freedom exhausts several months ago and left them on bike.

Purely out of curiosity, did you test ride a Can Am Spyder before choosing the Tri-Glide? I've been told by those who have ridden both, the Spyders handle much better in the twisty roads as well as better performance overall.
... but "Harley® trikes may not be the most common bikes on the road, yet they offer such a unique appeal with their ease of handling, improved comfort, and better stability." ;)

I understand there are several valid reasons for moving to a trike... but handling and stability? Very popular in Florida. (y)

One of my riding buddies switched from an HD trike to a Spyder and is very happy with his decision. The HD steering hurt his shoulders where as the Spyder has power steering not to mention more power. He can now keep up, on straight aways at least.

This; is what I was hoping to see here. Even though it is not first-hand experience, confirming what I have seen on the Spyder Lovers page is a good start. Most everyone over there is a little biased as they all own Spyders. It seems to be difficult to find conventional trike (two wheels in back) owners who have ventured over to even test ride a Spyder. I'm considering a test ride on one to compare it to our Spyder to see for myself, but the local HD dealer is pretty touchy about test rides. Of course, being a BMW guy, my first choice for such a trike would not be an HD but a conversion of a Goldwing or one of the beemers.

As for the earlier comments about handling, that was only asking about comparing trikes to trikes and not trikes to bikes. Having ridden bikes since 1968 and currently in possession of a few BMWs, there is no comparison of those to the Spyder. The two wheelers are leaps and bounds better through the twisty roads than the Spyder. Even the '79 R80 eases through curves that push the Spyder to the limits.

Thanks for the input Jim. (y)
